Treatment for advanced malignant mesothelioma is designed to provide palliative treatment. Palliative treatment seeks to relieve pain and improve the quality of live of the patient.
Treatment can include one or more of the following:
- draining of fluid in the chest or abdomen (thoracentesis or paracentesis) to reduce discomfort,
- surgery to relieve symptoms,
