Zonolite Company and W. R. Grace, the company that took over Zonolite, published advertising copy that in retrospect is ironic. Predominating words include safe, not harmful, non-irritating, and dustless. Advertising stated that if the insulation were to be installed in the attic it would then be good as extra living quarters. This insulation was easy enough and safe enough for a child to handle. It did not irritate the skin and contained no harmful substance. In fact, it was so safe and pure it was non-irritating to the lungs and no mask was needed. And to top off the list of accolades, it was durable and would outlast the life of the home.
Below are some examples of the representations that W. R. Grace and its predecessor Zonolite Company made to describe Zonolite Attic Insulation. Click on each statement to see the ad.
